Standard Occupational Classification (SOC)

Standard Occupational Classification (SOC)

US federal statistical agencies utilize the 2000 Standard Occupational Classification (SOC) system to categorize workers into occupational groups for the purposes of collecting, calculating, or publishing data. According to its occupational definition, all workers are assigned to one of more than 820 jobs. The International Standard Industrial Classification of All Economic Activities (ISIC) is administered by the United Nations, and national classifications are often based on this global project.
